How to Get Started With a Standard Subaccount

    Create a Standard Subaccount

    Step 1: Log in to your Bybit Main Account and click on Subaccount under the profile icon. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 2: Click on Create Subaccount

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 3: Select the type of Subaccount you would like to create. 

     

    For Standard Subaccount, you will only be required to enter a username without password settings. In this case, you can only log in to this Subaccount via Account Switch from Main Account. If you want to log in via the login page, you can set a password afterwards. 

     

    For Custom Subaccount, you need to create a password upon setting and you can log in via our Login page. To allow an instant account switch from the Main Account, you need to manually enable the account switch features. 

     

     

    Note: The Custodial Trading Subaccount is not a Standard Subaccount as it allows investors to entrust their funds to professional trading teams for asset management. You can learn more about this account type in our Introduction to Custodial Trading Subaccount.

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 4: Select the type of Subaccount you wish to open and enter your preferred username and password, if needed.

     

     

    Notes

    — Once the Subaccount is created, it will not be possible to change the Subaccount username.

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 5: You have successfully created a Standard Subaccount!

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Account Switch 

    Bybit now offers users the convenience of switching between their various accounts effortlessly using the Account Switch function.

     

    To navigate between your accounts, simply hover your cursor over your profile icon and click on the account you would like to go to or click on Switch/Create Account to access the Subaccount functions (Account Switch, Subaccount Management and Subaccount Creation) from the pop-up window displayed.

     

     

     

    If you are not able to locate one of your Subaccounts, it is possible that the Account Switch feature is not enabled on this subaccount. To activate it, please log in to your Main Account, go to your Subaccount page and click on the Settings of the respective Subaccount to enable/disable the account switch function for this Subaccount.

     

     

     

    Once it is enabled, you can also click on the Account Switch button of the account to log in to the chosen subaccount.

     

     

    Note:

     — Account Switch is not available for Custodial Trading Subaccounts, frozen Subaccounts, or when the Account Switch or Login Permission is toggled off.

    — If you log in to your Subaccount directly via the login page, you will not be able to switch back to the Main Account. 

    — If you have switched and stayed on your Subaccount for 30 days or more, you will not be able to switch back to your Main Account. Please log out from your Subaccount and log in to your Main Account again. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Log In to Your Standard Subaccount

    Step 1: Go to Bybit Login page above and click on Log in with Subaccount

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Step 2: You will be redirected to the Log In Subaccount page. Enter your Subaccount Username and Password. 

     

     

     

    Please note that if you initially created a Standard Subaccount without any password settings, you cannot log in via this page. You can only log in via Account Switch from the Main Account. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Set Up or Disable Google Authentication for Standard Subaccount

    To set up Google Authentication for your Subaccount, you will first need to log in or switch to your Subaccount. Once you log in or switch to your Subaccount, you can follow the steps outlined in this guide to enable Google Authenticator to your Subaccount.

     

    To disable the Google Authenticator bind on the Subaccount, you need to log in to your Main Account and click on Account Security for the relevant Subaccount.

     

     


    Then, click on Unlink and enter the Google Authentication Code of your Main Account. Click on Confirm

     



     

     

     

     

     

     

    Transfer Assets Between Main Account and Subaccounts

    Subaccounts are not able to perform any crypto deposits or withdrawals. However, you can transfer funds from the Main Account to your Subaccounts.

     

    You can go to the Assets page or Accounts pages of any of your accounts to make a transfer between your different accounts.

     

     

     

     

    In the Transfer window, switch to Across Subaccount(s) tab to transfer funds across Main and Subaccounts. You can also choose the direction of transfer by clicking on the Switch icon

     

     

     

    Note: The two-way transfer function between Main Accounts and Subaccounts is not supported when: 

    — Logged into your Subaccount for which the Allow Switch feature is disabled. 

    — Logged into your Subaccount through the login page using your Bybit username and password. In these cases, only transfers back to the Main Account or within the same Subaccount will be supported.

     

     

    Alternatively, you can click on Transfer Asset on the Subaccount page of your Main Account to transfer assets between any accounts instantly and without any fees.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Check Transfer History

    You can check the fund transfer history for all accounts by clicking on Transfer History on your Main Account.

     

     

     

    On the Transfer History page, you can select the transfer types that you would like to see more precisely, such as transfers from your Main Account to a Subaccount, from a Subaccount to your Main Account, or between two Subaccounts. 

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Delete/Freeze Subaccount

    To delete/freeze your Subaccount, click on the Settings of the respective Subaccount from your Main Account. Login and API management using this Subaccount will no longer be supported once you freeze or delete it. 

     

     

     

    Please keep in mind that once a Subaccount is deleted, it cannot be restored, but a frozen subaccount can be reactivated at any time. Additionally, usernames from deleted or frozen accounts cannot be reused for new Subaccounts.
